wow… I am listening to george carlin for the very first time… EVER.. (well, aside from his “seven swear words you can’t say on tv”).. So far, I have watched four videos on youtube of his live performances… I agree with almost every single word he has said! oh my gosh.. I probably AM a person of my time, (60s 70s); who knew?  Still, it makes me glad.  I still feel sorry for all those who came afterward, who, having nothing else to compare by, cannot realize how capitalism, or the love of consumerism or whatever the heck the term is, how it has infiltrated and engulfed sports and all of the arts and culture and just being human, and has ruined it all….
